A leader in the region’s nascent energy industry
The Pittsburgh region is right at the heart of the Marcellus Shale basin, which is fueling America’s burgeoning oil and natural gas industry. As this nascent industry continues to develop and spark a revival in manufacturing throughout the region, no one is better is positioned to help it grow than RMU.
Throughout its history, Robert Morris has played a major role in shaping the region’s professional workforce, and today is no different. Since its inception, the School of Engineering, Mathematics and Science (SEMS) has worked closely with manufacturers and other corporate partners to make their operations safer, more efficient, and more profitable. SEMS faculty have extensive industry experience that informs their teaching and provides students with real-world, problem-solving knowledge and skills.
Engineering is now RMU’s largest major, and SEMS is the fastest growing school. As Western PA looks to build a well-prepared workforce to leverage its rich supply of natural gas and other energy sources into a broad-based and sustainable economic revival, corporate community and policy makers will find no better partner than RMU.
