ENERGY INNOVATION CENTER (EIC)
A leader in sustainable energy research.
Robert Morris University believes in an engaged, hands-on type of learning with real-world applications. Students in the School of Engineering, Mathematics and Science (SEMS) are encouraged to get active and involved so they can make a difference and have a lasting impact in our local communities.
One of the ways SEMS is doing this is by partnering with the Energy Innovation Center (EIC)—a sustainability research and education center located right here in Pittsburgh. Featuring green technology research laboratories, the EIC strives to promote business development through innovative and collaborative university-industry projects. Through this partnership, our students are helping to address urban challenges and stimulating workforce development throughout the region. Currently SEMS is working with the EIC and the RK Mellon Foundation to develop a new laboratory facility at the center.
SEMS is also the only school in the city to offer two energy-specific certificates: Energy Technology and Additive Manufacturing (both undergraduate and graduate level).
